Share
Rich, warming and full of festive aroma. This simple mulled wine recipe is made on the hob using fresh citrus, apples and classic winter spices. It’s quick to prepare and perfect for cosy evenings or small gatherings. Made with the help of the HADEN Ribbed 20cm Pan.
Ingredients
- 1 bottle red wine (750ml)
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6–8 whole cloves
- 3 tbsp honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 small splash of brandy (optional)
Method
- Add the sliced orange and apple to your pan.
- Pour in the red wine.
- Add the cinnamon sticks and cloves.
- Warm over low heat for 20–25 minutes, allowing the spices and fruit to infuse. Avoid boiling — gentle heating keeps the flavour smooth and balanced.
- Stir in honey or sugar to taste. Add a splash of brandy if you’d like a deeper, richer finish.
- Serve warm with extra citrus or a cinnamon stick.
Tips for Perfect Mulled Wine
- Keep the heat low so the wine warms without boiling.
- Taste and adjust sweetness at the end.
- Add star anise or ginger if you prefer stronger spice.
Why This Recipe Works
