Quick & easy chilli con carne recipe make a perfect lunch or dinner for the entire family during busy week.


This chilli con carne is full of flavour & healthy vegetables. 


1 tsp olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 bay leaves
2 tsp ground cumin
1 red chilli, chopped (optional)
1-3 tsp chilli powder, to taste
500g/1lb 2oz lean beef
1 x 400g tin chopped tomatoes
1 x 400g tin kidney beans
1 tbsp clear honey
250ml red wine or beef stock
Boiled long grain rice, to serve


1, Set the Kitchen Angel to Sauté program.

2, Heat the oil & add the onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.

3, Add the garlic & sauté for 1-2 mins. Stir in the bay leaves, cumin, chili (if using) & chili powder (to taste) until well combined.

4, Add the beef mince, break it up with a wooden spoon & fry for 4-5 minutes, or until golden-brown throughout.

5, Pour in the tinned tomatoes, beans, honey & red wine (or stock), stir well & bring the mixture to the boil.

6, Cancel Sauté program. Close the lid & turn the steam release handle to the Sealing position.

7, Set the Kitchen Angel to Meat program.

8, Once the program has finished, carefully vent to release the pressure completely. Carefully open the lid once the pressure is released.

9, Season to taste & serve with rice.
